Understanding your "Why"

"Life will only change when you become more committed to your dreams than you are t0 your comfort zone" - Billy Cox

Welcome BACK my healthy, beautiful brides-to-be. I really hope you enjoyed my first post! I’m still over the moon with excitement to be able to share my health and fitness tips with you. I’ve got a very important second post for y'all...I want you to consider your why. I’m so happy you’re engaged!!! (or married, or dating, or whatever other part of your relationship journey you’re on!) and I’m so happy you are thinking about changing your health habits. But...WHY are you planning on making this amazing change?

What are the reasons behind this new journey you are about to embark on? Fitness and health can be HARD. It takes a lot of work, a lot of dedication, and a lot of discipline. Knowing your why will help push you through the hard times, remind you of your goals and that your goals are possible if you set your mind to them.

Understand your why. Dig deep. Don’t lie to yourself. Find your truth and own it. Are you just looking for a fad diet that will guarantee you drop 10 pounds in a month so you look great on your wedding night? Do you want to change your body only to make your partner happy? Or are you sick and tired of not putting yourself first and want to truly make a change that will stick with you for the rest of your life? There really is no right answer. Your desires are completely personal. It’s called your fitness “journey” for a reason and you are the captain of your ship. Of course I DO have an opinion about what the best mindset is if you want to make a lifestyle change that will stick, but the important thing is to be true to yourself on why you are starting this journey.

Knowing your why gives you purpose. It gives you a reason to get your ass to the gym in the morning and finish your workout. It gives you a reason to drop that cookie. I’m serious. Drop that cookie...right now!! I see you...save that for your wedding day!...Your why will give you clarity on what you want out of your health journey and what you need to do to get there.

Ready to hear my why? The simple answer is, I love my body and love seeing what it can do for me when I treat it right. I love how I feel when I fuel my body with delicious, healthy foods and I love how I feel when I walk out of the gym after an amazing workout. I love crafting new recipes that are far from the bland, boring diet food you’d picture most fitness trainers eat.

This was my first date with my fiance!

I truly, deeply enjoy living a healthy and fit lifestyle and can’t imagine living any other way. Have I reached my goals yet? Hell no. In fact, I’m still far from them. Am I perfect all the time with my diet? Absolutely not. But I know my why and because of that, I’m never giving up!

Finding your motivation might not happen overnight or even after your first workout. You’ll have to try a few different meal plans or diets until you find one that’s perfect for your lifestyle and tastes. You might have to try dancing, walking, running, weightlifting, bodybuilding, power lifting, or heck...even pole dancing until you find the exercise routine that brings you the most joy. But knowing why you’re starting will be life changing and will get your booty on the road to success.

Share your why with me in the comments! Even if you don’t know what it is yet, what are your initial reasons for wanting to make this change during this wedding journey of yours! Brides...YOU GOT THIS!

Thanks again so much for reading! Until my next post, happy planning and stay fit! <3
